Kathleen Morrison delivers a presentation titled "Food Security in India: Historical Perspectives and Contemporary Concerns" at Swift Hall on June 26, 2012. Her talk traces historical issues of food distribution in India and examines hunger issues in India today. Morrison is Professor, Departments of Anthropology and Social Sciences, and the College, and director of the Center for International Studies at the University of Chicago.
Morrison's presentation was part of a three-day Summer Teacher Institute titled "Feeding the World: Challenges to Achieving Food Security." The Institute was presented by the University of Chicago Center for International Studies and cosponsored by the Program on the Global Environment, the Center for Middle Eastern Studies, the Center for East European and Russian Eurasian Studies, and the Global Health Initiative.
